Description: A sub-triangular shell shape with a slightly longer posterior end and a prominent beak (umbo). The sculpture comprises irregular commarginal ribs.

Size: 5-10 mm.

Ecology: Shallow infaunal in soft sediment from the inner to mid-shelf (16-90 m).

Geological range: Early Pliocene-Recent (5-0 million years ago).

Geographic distribution: Channel Islands of California (34°N) to Baja California Sur, Mexico (25°N). Reported from the San Pedro Sand (Pleistocene, California) and Timms Point Silt (Pleistocene, California).
