Description: An oval shell shape, which os usually distorted. Right valve is much deeper (cupped) than left valve. Right valve with narrow elongate spines, while left valve has many irregular fine ribs.
Size: 20-25 mm.
Ecology: Epifaunal, attached to rocks or other shells from mid-shelf to upper bathyal depths (46-256 m).
Geological range: Middle Pleistocene-Recent (1-0 million years ago).
Geographic distribution: British Columbia, Canada (49°N) to Baja California, Mexico (28°N). Reported from the Timms Point Silt (Pleistocene, California).
