Lucinisca muricata (Spengler, 1798)

Description: Circular and flattened, and small in size. Numerous unequal radial ribs (alternating large and small) bearing small scales, which create a rough texture. Exterior and interior are white.
Size: 15-20 mm.
Ecology: Shallow sub-tidal sands.
Geological range: Pleistocene-Recent (2-0 million years ago).
Geographic distribution: Caribbean, Florida.
