• (Taxon-specific: Class Ostracoda) A crenulate hinge with a systematic increase in size of teeth and decrease in size of sockets from anterior to posterior in the right valve, left valve complementary (Family Loxoconchidae only). [Cohen, Peterson, and Maddocks, in press]
