Larva

• General term for early stages of shrimps after hatching from the egg, morphologically quite different from adult.
  (pl. larvae) [Butler, T. H.]
• (Taxon-specific: Subclass Branchiura) One of up to nine stages of development after hatching from egg. On may distinguish larvae that swim by means of antennae and mandibles and those that swim with thoracopods. [Stachowitsch, 1992]
