Sympod

- (Taxon-specific: Order Isopoda) Proximal part of an appendage, often formed by the fusion of the coxa and basis. [Kensley and Schotte, 1989]
- (Taxon-specific: Subclass Copepoda) A compound segment formed by fusion or failure to separate of coxa and basis. [Boxshall and Halsey, 2004]
