Siphon

• (Taxon-specific: Order Cumacea) Tubular, exhalant respiratory structure consisting dorsally of pseudorostral lobes (pseudorostrum) of carapace and laterally of anteriorly directed lobes (according to interpretation: siphonal lobe of epipod or exopod) of first maxilliped pair. Water from branchial chamber exists via siphon extended in front of head. [Stachowitsch, 1992]
