• Anterior part of cephalothorax in hermit crabs. [McLaughlin, 1980]
• (Taxon-specific: Order Decapoda) Anterior, better calcified section of cephalothorax in front of cervical groove in hermit crabs. (subcordate, subquadrate; convex, flattened; with granules, with tufts of hair).
  (syn. anterior shield) [Stachowitsch, 1992]
