Naupliar shield
- (Taxon-specific: Subclass Copepoda) The expanse of the exoskeleton of an unspecified number of somites, uninterrupted by arthrodial membranes, and covering the dorsal and lateral part of the naupliar body. [Ferrari and Dahms, in press]
