- (Taxon-specific: Order Isopoda) Second of three larval stages (epicaridium, microniscus, cryptoniscus) in certain parasitic isopods. Parasitic on intermediate host. Characterized by loss of natatory function of antennae and pleopods as well as by development of last (= seventh) pereopod pair. [Stachowitsch, 1992]
