Lobe
- (Taxon-specific: Subclass Mystacocarida) One of four (two anteromedian and two anterolateral = lateral) extension of anterior (antennulary) part of head (cephalon). Anteromedian lobes occasionally termed rostral plate. Configuration of lobes is of taxonomic importance. [Stachowitsch, 1992]
- (Taxon-specific: Class Ostracoda) Type of valve sculpture: rounded, major protuberance. According to position one may distinguish, e.g., anterior, median, and posterior lobes (designated L1, L2, and L3). Typically separated by grooves (sulci). Also refers to lobes of appendages. [Stachowitsch, 1992]
