Abstract
Abstract. - The material of the genus Munida collected by the H.M.S. Challenger along the Brazilian coast during its voyage of circumnavigation (1872-1876) is reexamined. Two species: _Munida sanctipauli _Henderson and _M. spinifrons_ Henderson are redescribed. Part of the material of _M. stimpsoni _A.Milne Edwards collected at station 122 is in reality _M. flinti_ Benedict, and specimens from the same station previously reported as _M. miles_ Henderson are actually _M. forceps_ A. Milne Edwards, _M. constricta_ A. Milne Edwards and _M. valida_ Smith. _Munida miles_ and _M. stimpsoni_ are not presently thought to occur off the Brazilian coast; and_ M. flinti_, _M. forceps_, _M. constricta_ and _M. valida_ are reported for the first time from this area.
