Abstract
Beside the systematical contributions, some contradictory aspects of the present classification of the apseudomorph tanaidaceans are commented upon in the first part of this paper. Within this context, some morphological features that have been overlooked until now are pointed out, some of them with possible phyletic implications, that could contribute in the future to some modifications in the apseudomorphs systematics. Also in the first part, details of some morphological features at the level of the body and of the appendages, minor at the first sight, are analysed comparatively. A greater importance will have to be bestowed to these details in the establishing of the superspecific taxa diagnoses. The systematical contributions consist in: - the description of a new family (Pagurapseudopsididae); - the description of a new subfamily (Msangiinae), family Metapseudidae; - the preliminary revision of the genus Apseudes Leach, 1814, family Apseudidae; - the revalidation of the genus Apseudopsis Norman, 1899, family Apseudidae; - the raising to the rank of genus of the three subgenera belonging to the genus Kalliapseudes Stebbing, 1910 (Kalliapseudes sensu stricto, Mesokalliapseudes Lang, 1956 and Monokalliapseudes Lang, 1956), family Kalliapseudidae; - the description of a new subgenus (Impectinatus), belonging to the genus Pectin-apseudes Bacescu and Williams, 1978, family Apseudidae; - the description of 14 new genera, from which 6 belong to the family Apseudidae (Androgynella, Colobocladus, Eliomosa, Falsapseudes, Muramura and Obscur-apseudes), 2 to family Kalliapseudidae (Acutihumerus and Alokalliapseudes), 2 to family Metapseudidae (Chondropodus and Plectrocopus) and 4 to family Parapseudidae (Brachylicoa, Leptolicoa, Platylicoa and Podictenius); - the description of 35 new species, from which 13 originate from Australia (Androgynella fecunda, Apseudes bucospinosus, Bilobatus rostridentatus, Bunakenia (Extensibasella) anomala, Hainanius imaculatus, Muramura splendida and Pugiodactylus daicovicii, family Apseudidae, Cristapseudes unicus, Kalliapseudes langi and Kalliapseudes multiarticulus, family Kalliapseudidae, Pakistanapseudes australianus and Platilicoa setosa, family Parapseudidae, and Whiteleggia incerta, family Whiteleggidae), 2 from Indonesia (Synapseudes tomescui, family Metapseudidae, and Brachylicoa indonesiana, family Parapseudidae), 3 from Malaysia (Pseudoapseudomorpha ornata, Synapseudes hansmuelleri and Synapseudes minimus, family Metapseudidae), 4 from Tanzania (Bacescapseudes grossidigitus, family Kalliapseudidae, Msangia bacescui and Pseudoapseudomorpha tanzaniana, family Metapseudidae, and Podictenius estafricanus, family Parapseudidae), 1 from Senegal (Kalliapseudes senegalensis, family Kalliapseudidae), 7 from Mauritania (Apseudopsis isochelatus, family Apseudidae, Hemikalliapseudes vasileradui, family Kalliapseudidae, Apseudo-morpha vestafricana, Calozodion simile, Chondropodus curvispinus, Chondropodus rectispinus and Plectrocopus spicatus, family Metapseudidae), 2 from Bahamas (Mesokalliapseudes thalasispeleus, family Kalliapseudidae, and Podictenius tomiliffei, family Parapseudidae), 2 from Cuba (Apseudopsis caribbeanus, family Apseudidae, and Apseudomorpha ortizi, family Metapseudidae) and 1 from Mexico (Discapseudes mexicanus, family Parapseudidae). Also, the males of some species are described for the first time, some species are revalidated and others are reclassified, the diagnoses of many genera, subfamilies or families are commented and amended, etc.
