Rostral notch

• See rostral incisure. [McLaughlin, 1980]
• (Taxon-specific: Class Ostracoda) In anteroventral region of carapace, indentation of each valve below (posterior to) rostrum. Gaping, thus permitting protrusion of antennae when valves are closed (gape itself occasionally referred to as rostral incisure). [Stachowitsch, 1992]
