Pleonite

- A segment of the pleotelson. [Wilson, 1989]

- Segments of the abdomen.

- (Taxon-specific: Order Cumacea) One of six segments (somites) of abdomen (pleon). Cylindrical, anterior pleonites occasionally bearing appendages (pleopods). Posterior pleonite bears uropods and may be fused to telson to form pleotelson. [Stachowitsch, 1992]
- (Taxon-specific: Order Isopoda) A segment of the pleon (=pleomere). [Wetzer et al. 1997]
- (Taxon-specific: Order Isopoda) One of basically six segments of pleon. Appendages of pleonite are termed pleopods; often considerably narrower than pereonites. Last (= sixth) pleonite typically fused to telson to form pleotelson.
