Intercoxal plate

• (Taxon-specific: Subclass Copepoda) On underside of thorax, fold of sternite uniting basal segments (coxae) of each pereopod pair. Permits synchronous strokes during rapid swimming.
  (syn. median coupler plate) [Stachowitsch, 1992]
