Fossa

• a ventral trough in the clypeus into which the mandible's condyle articulates. [Wilson, 1989]
• (Taxon-specific: Class Ostracoda) Type of valve scultpture: single mesh in reticulate pattern (reticulum). Consists of central space (solum) and surrounding walls (muri). [Stachowitsch, 1992]
